NAVAL AMPHIBIOUS BASE CORONADO, Calif. (Feb. 3, 2021) Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Leigh Prevatte, assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group (EODGRU) 1, gives a COVID-19 vaccine to Senior Chief Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician Jeff Rothrock, assigned to EODGRU-1, at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, Calif., Feb. 3. EODGRU-1 and its subordinate commands took part in a voluntary COVID-19 mass vaccination in support of Department of Defense priorities aimed at protecting the American people, maintaining readiness, and supporting the national COVID-19 response. EODGRU-1 is a critical part of the Navy Expeditionary Combat Force (NECF) that clears explosive hazards to provide access to denied areas; secures the undersea domain for complete freedom of maneuver; builds and fosters relationships with a constellation of capable and trusted partners; and protects the homeland and American way of life.
