EAST CHINA SEA (Jan. 21, 2021) Marines with Battalion Landing Team, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Force (MEU) board an MV-22B Osprey tiltrotor aircraft assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 (Reinforced), 31st MEU, during In and Out drills aboard amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) in the East China Sea, Jan. 21, 2021. The Marines timed themselves to see how quickly and efficiently they could board and off board aircraft for future inserts. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps' only continuously forward-deployed MEU, is operating aboard ships of the America Expeditionary Strike Group in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
