PACIFIC OCEAN (Nov. 19, 2020) Logistics Specialist Seaman Bryan Alamilla, assigned to the Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Gabrielle Giffords (LCS 10), heaves a line during a sea and anchor evolution as the ship makes a brief stop in Ecuador for fuel and provisions, Nov. 19, 2020. Sea and anchor is the name of the evolution that prepares a sea vessel to go underway or pull into a port. Gabrielle Giffords deployed to the U.S. 4th Fleet area of responsibility to support Joint Interagency Task Force South�s mission, which includes counter illicit drug trafficking in the Caribbean Sea and eastern Pacific Ocean. U.S. Marines with U.S. Marine Corps Forces, South embarked on the Gabrielle Giffords for a three-week assessment to support naval integration and interoperability between the U.S. Marine Corps with the U.S. Navy.
