NAVAL AMPHIBIOUS BASE CORONADO, Calif. (Jan. 8, 2021) Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Cory Fredenburg, attached to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Expeditionary Support Unit (EODESU) 1, gives a COVID-19 vaccination to a Sailor at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, Calif. Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group (EODGRU) 1 and its subordinate commands took part in a voluntary COVID-19 mass vaccination in support of Department of Defense priorities aimed at protecting the American people, maintaining readiness, and supporting the national COVID-19 response. EODGRU-1 is a critical part of the Navy Expeditionary Combat Force (NECF) that clears explosive hazards to provide access to denied areas, secure the undersea domain for complete freedom of maneuvers, build and foster relationships with a constellation of capable and trusted partners and protects the homeland and American way of life.
