SOUTH CHINA SEA (Dec. 22, 2020) Conning Officer Ensign Joseph Hurd, from Foley, Alabama, gives course and speed orders to the helm while standing watch on the bridge wing as the guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG 56) conducts routine underway operations. McCain is forward-deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
