PHILIPPINE SEA (Dec. 17, 2020) The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Hyūga-class helicopter destroyer JS Hyūga (DDH 181) transits in formation during a photo exercise with the U.S. Navy and the French navy while conducting integrated maritime security operations. The guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG 56) is assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest forward-deployed DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force.
