MAYPORT, Fla. (Dec. 15, 2020) Rear Adm. Don Gabrielson, commander of U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command and U.S. 4th Fleet, salutes Royal Navy Lt. Cmdr. Andy Rowlands, executive officer of the Royal Navy River-class corvette HMS Medway (P223), Dec. 15, 2020. Medway deployed to the Caribbean as part of a Royal Navy task group supporting British overseas territories during hurricane season, as well as maritime security and counter-narcotics operations. U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet supports U.S. Southern Command joint and combined military operations by employing maritime forces in cooperative maritime security operations in order to maintain access, enhance interoperability, and build enduring partnerships that foster regional security and promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the Caribbean, Central and South American regions.
