PACIFIC OCEAN (Dec. 5, 2020) A Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) with Beach Master Unit 1 embarks the landing platform dock ship USS Portland (LPD 27) during Exercise Steel Knight 21 off the coast of Southern California, Dec. 5, 2020. Exercise SK/DB 21 ensures 1st Marine Division and Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) - 3 are optimized for naval expeditionary warfare in contested spaces and purpose-built to facilitate sea denial and assured access in support of naval fleet.
