STRAIT OF HORMUZ (Dec. 2, 2020) A MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter attached to Helicopter Maritime Strike (HSM 48) Squadron flies above the coastal patrol ship USS Tempest (PC 2) during a Strait of Hormuz transit, Dec. 2. Tempest is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three critical chokepoints to the free flow of global commerce.
