SILVERDALE, Wash. (Nov. 19, 2020) Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research Development, and Acquisition James F. Geurts tours Trident Training Facility (TTF) Bangor with Capt. Jeffrey Smith, commander, TTF. As the authority for all Navy acquisition functions, programs and weapons systems, Geurts visited strategic-deterrent units in the Pacific Northwest to see current operations, training and maintenance facilities fist-hand, and to discuss ongoing preparations and planning for the new Columbia class of ballistic-missile submarines.
