NAVSTA ROTA, Spain (Nov. 13, 2020) Naval Station (NAVSTA) Rota Fire and Emergency Services Department and U.S. Naval Hospital Rota set up a simulated medical evacuation station on the pier during a fire drill taking place onboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Roosevelt (DDG 80). Personnel assigned to Roosevelt, NAVSTA Rota Fire and Emergency Services Department, U.S. Naval Hospital Rota, Navantia and Forward-Deployed Maintenance Center Detachment Rota all participated in the drill to demonstrate their combined ability to combat a major shipboard fire on DDG-class ships.
