PACIFIC OCEAN (Oct. 18, 2020) Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Joseph Walker, a respiratory technician assigned to Fleet Surgical Team 1, embarked aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8), inserts an oropharyngeal airway to assist a simulated patient with breathing during a mass casualty training event. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit are currently conducting at-sea training events in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations.
