ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 20, 2020) An EP-3 Aries, from the "World Watchers" of Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron (VQ) 1, and an F/A-18F Super Hornet, from the "Fighting Redcocks" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 22, fly alongside the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). Nimitz, the flagship of Nimitz Carrier Strike Group, is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations, conducting missions in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, and maritime security operations alongside regional and coalition partners.
