EASTERN PACIFIC OCEAN (Oct. 6, 2020) The Independence-class littoral combat ship USS Gabrielle Giffords (LCS 10) participates in a passing exercise (PASSEX) with ships from the El Salvadoran Navy, Oct. 6, 2020. The PASSEX enabled the forces to enhance communication, interoperability and maintain operational readiness. Gabrielle Giffords is deployed to the U.S. 4th Fleet area of operations to support Joint Interagency Task Force South's mission, which includes counter illicit drug trafficking in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific.
