YOKOSUKA, Japan (Sept. 28, 2020) Senior Chief Boatswain's Mate Edmundo Brantes, from Santiago, Chile, gives a speech during Hispanic Heritage Month ceremony aboard the amphibious command ship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19). This year's theme, "Honoring the Past, Securing the Future," was highlighted during the socially distanced event by recognizing the history, culture and contributions made by Hispanic Americans serving aboard. Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and, as 7th Fleet command ship, actively works to foster relationships with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
