PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. (Sept. 24, 2020) A Sailor listens to the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON) Russell Smith during an all hands call aboard the the future USS Delbert D. Black (DDG 119). The Navy will commission Delbert D. Black, the first ship in naval history to be named after the first MCPON, Sept. 26, 2020 in Port Canaveral. Due to public health and safety concerns related to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the commissioning will be a private event.
