PHILIPPINE SEA (Sept. 25, 2020) Ensign Samuel Joseph, from Sacramento, Calif., takes a bearing using a telescopic alidade on the starboard bridge wing of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42) as the ship sails in formation in the Philippine Sea with the guided-missile cruiser USS Antietam (CG 54). Germantown, part of Expeditionary Strike Group Seven (ESG 7), along with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility to enhance interoperability with allies and partners, and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
