PACIFIC OCEAN (Sept. 17, 2020) Quartermaster 2nd Class Tony Hoy, left, from West Valley, Utah, and Quartermaster 1st Class Dametrious Jenkins, from Atlanta, hoist a signal flag representing Secretary of Defense Dr. Mark T. Esper's embarkation aboard Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). During the visit, Esper toured the ship�s composite warfare commander spaces, receiving in-depth briefs on carrier strike group interoperability and naval power defense. Vinson is currently underway with Carrier Air Wing TWO, fully integrating and operating together for the first time since the addition of the F-35C Lightning II.
