PHILIPPINE SEA (Sep. 3, 2020) U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Luis Leoni, a criminal investigator with 3d Law Enforcement (LE) Detachment, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), demonstrates photographing a developed fingerprint aboard amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6). The fingerprint is photographed using a blue alternative light source and an orange filter and entered into a database. America, flagship of the America Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), 31st MEU team, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
