PHILIPPINE SEA (Aug. 26, 2020) Capt. Luke Frost, commanding officer of the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), tests the Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) while Capt. Jacob Rhine, 5th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company detachment officer-in-charge, briefs the system's capabilities. The ATAK is used to plan and coordinate aircraft and personnel movements. America, flagship of the America Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), 31st MEU team, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operation to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
