YOKOSUKA, Japan (Aug. 27, 2020) Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class DeMarcus Baldwin, from Philadelphia, instructs Culinary Specialist Seaman Ricky Ratcliff, from Whiteville, North Carolina, on proper procedures for performing chest compressions during Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training aboard U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19). Every Sailor serving aboard Blue Ridge is required to earn the CPR qualification. During an actual medical emergency, first responders are expected to provide immediate lifesaving care while waiting for medical professionals to arrive on scene. Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and, as 7th Fleet command ship, actively works to foster relationships with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
