OKINAWA, Japan (Aug. 20, 2020) Marines with Bridge Company, 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group (MLG), stand ready to build an Improved Ribbon Bridge (IRB) at Naha Military Port, Okinawa, Japan, Aug. 20, 2020. IRBs provide a wet-gap crossing capability either as a floating bridge or as a multi-bay raft for tracked and wheeled combat tactical vehicles. 3rd MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward deployed combat unit that serves as III Marine Expeditionary Force�s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
