SAN DIEGO (July 31, 2020) Thomas Chiu, left, a FOX Nation news camera operator, films Capt. Lanny Littlejohn, a force surgeon assigned to Naval Special Warfare Command, during an interview at Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD). FOX Nation is filming "Alive Day: Johnny Joey Jones," a documentary about Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Jones who lost his legs in an unexpected improvised explosive device explosion, and the surgery that Littlejohn performed that ultimately saves Jones' life. NMCSD's mission is to prepare service members to deploy in support of operational forces, deliver high quality healthcare services and shape the future of military medicine through education, training and research. NMCSD employs more than 6,000 active duty military personnel, civilians, and contractors in the Southern California to provide patients with world-class care anytime, anywhere.
