PEARL HARBOR (July 25, 2020) The Los Angeles-class fast-attack submarine USS Chicago (SSN 721) departs Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in response to Hurricane Douglas. The Navy orders ships and submarines to depart, or sortie, during potentially extreme weather conditions to reduce the risk of significant damage to ships and submarines during high winds and heavy seas.
