151122-N-UF697-069 WATERS SOUTH OF JAPAN (Nov. 22, 2015) The forward-deployed Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Stethem (DDG 63) takes part in an underway-replenishment with the Fleet Replenishment Oiler USNS Tippecanoe (T-AO 199) during Annual Exercise (AE) 16 while the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Chancellorsville (CG 62) prepares to come alongside. Stethem is participating in AE16 to increase interoperability between Japanese and American forces through training in air and sea operations.
