161027-N-WC455-101 ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 27, 2016) Petty Officer 3rd Class Samantha Finstad, from Greenbay, Wis., acts as the aircraft elevator safety during ordnance transport operations in the hangar bay of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69). Finstad serves aboard Dwight D. Eisenhower as an aviation boatswain’s mate (handling) and is responsible for the directing and transporting aircraft in the hangar bay. The ship and its Carrier Strike Group are deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
