PACIFIC OCEAN (October 16, 2016) - Sailors and Marines aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) sing during Protestant worship services in the ship’s chapel. Makin Island, the flagship of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, is deployed with the embarked 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit in support of the Navy’s maritime strategy in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of responsibility.
