CARRIBEAN SEA (Oct. 13, 2016) – A Humvee attached to 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) departs landing craft utility 1643 during well deck operations aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verda (LPD 19). Mesa Verde was relieved by the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) as the lead Navy support ship of humanitarian aid/ disaster relief missions in the wake of Hurricane Matthew.
