160918-N-NS216-096 SAN DIEGO – (Sept. 18, 2016) Sailors assigned to Fleet Logistics Support Squadron (VRC) 30 participate in the 6th annual Military Pit Crew Challenge competition during the Coronado Speed Festival held in conjunction with Fleet Week 2016. “The Providers” of VRC-30 won the competition for the second consecutive year. Known as the “Race at the Base” the Coronado Speed Festival held at Naval Air Station North Island is one of San Diego’s most successful fundraisers for the military and is an opportunity for the public to visit the base and interact with Sailors and Marines. Fleet week offers the public an opportunity to meet Sailors, Marines, and members of the Coast Guard and gain a better understanding of how the sea services support the national defense of the United States and freedom of the seas.
