Local Sailors Volunteer to Assist Black Forest Fire Victim

(September 17, 2016) Master-at-Arms 2nd Class Gail Wallace (front), Construction Mechanic 2nd Class Yenli Tan-Haynes (middle) and Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Erica Battle (back), attached to Operational Support Unit 1914, carry a log that will be used as a log erosion barrier (LEB) during the Black Forest Together volunteer event. The LEB’-s are used to prevent further erosion of soil due to heavy rainfall. Black Forest Together is a non-profit organization that helps people of the Black Forest region to recover, rebuild and restore their lives through the help of local volunteers, military members and other local organizations.
