160910-N-JH668-258 SAN DIEGO (Sept. 10, 2016) – Sailors assigned to amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) man the rails during San Diego Fleet Week’s Parade of Ships. America is returning to its homeport at Naval Base San Diego after participating in the inaugural Los Angeles Fleet Week. Fleet week offers the public an opportunity to tour ships, meet Sailors, Marines, and members of the Coast Guard and gain a better understanding of how the sea service support the national defense of the United States and freedom of the seas.
