U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Rich Buckles, Task Force Los Angeles Sergeant Major, lets Gigi, a patient at Children’s Hospital Orange County, wear his dress cap during a hospital visit, Aug. 31, 2016, in Orange, Calif. Marines, Sailors and Coast Guardsmen visited the hospital as a part of weeklong activities during the first Los Angeles Fleet Week. “It meant a lot to the kids,” said Amber Chavez, special programs coordinator for the hospital. “They can’t experience everything while in the hospital so when they get visitors with new faces it brightens their day.” Los Angeles Fleet Week is an opportunity for Marines to connect with the people of Los Angeles and the surrounding communities and thank them for their support.
