160815-M-TL650-0284 FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Aug. 15, 2016) Midshipmen candidates receive instructions from Challenge Course staff members on how to properly wear their helmets and climbing harnesses before attempting the 50-foot-high obstacles at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. The candidates from three regional Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps units took on the Challenge Course to foster teamwork and build individual confidence as part of joint New Student Orientation training. The weeklong NSO training took place Aug. 12-19, with half combined at Camp Navajo alongside freshman candidates from the University of New Mexico and Arizona State University NROTC units, and the second half at The University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. The joint regional training was the first combined evolution of its kind for The University of Arizona. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Gunnery Sgt. Brian A. Tuthill/Released)
