AT SEA (August 15, 2016) - The USS Wayne E. Meyer (DEG 108) leads the way as the front of a strait transit formation as part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group/11th Marine Expeditionary Unit Composite Training Unit Exercise off the coast of San Clemente Island, Calif.. The USS Makin Island, USS Somerset, USS Comstock and Amphibious Squadron 5 form the Makin Island ARG, and is the Navy or "blue-side" partner to the Marines' "green-side."
