160727-N-GR718-023 COLOMBO, SRI LANKA (July 27, 2016) Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class John Towery and Lt Chun Tsang, assigned to the amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans (LPD 18), pass out food and dental products to local Sri Lankan families during a community relation�s event at Community Concern in Dehiwalla. Community Concern is a local volunteer center that helps under privileged families to get proper food and health care. Sailors and Marines from USS New Orleans and the embarked 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit are in Sri Lanka to increase bilateral ties with the Sri Lankan navy and exchange best practices on humanitarian assistance/ disaster relief.
