160727-N-FT110-354 PACIFIC OCEAN (July 27, 2016) Naval Aircrewman (Helicopter) 2nd Class Joseph Kreidler, assigned to the “Black Knights” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 4, observes flight operations on the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) flight deck from an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter after an aerial visit, board, search and seizure training exercise. Carl Vinson is underway with embarked Carrier Air Wing 2 and Destroyer Squadron 1 conducting the Tailored Ship's Training Availability (TSTA) and Final Evaluation Problem in preparation for their upcoming deployment. During TSTA, Afloat Training Group Pacific evaluates training drills and real-world scenarios, while placing an emphasis on damage control, flight deck operations and simulated combat.
