160713-N-NF288-375 SOUTH CHINA SEA (July 13, 2016) Three F/A-18E Super Hornets from the “Royal Maces” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 27 perform a breakaway during the VFA-27 change of command ceremony. During the change of command, Cmdr. Daniel Cochran relieved Cmdr. Adrian Calder as the new commanding officer of VFA-27. The Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, Ronald Reagan, the Carrier Strike Group Five (CSG 5) flagship, is on patrol in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
