160708-M-AF202-122 ATLANTIC OCEAN (July 8, 2016) Marines assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 264 (Reinforced), and 2nd Radio Battalion Detachment, 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), take off from the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD-1) to conduct the first operational flight of the Intrepid Tiger II (V)3 Electronic Warfare pod. The Intrepid Tiger II EW is a network-enabled family of systems that provides a RDC (Rapid Deployment Capability) to support ground combat operations. 22nd MEU, deployed with the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, is conducting naval operations in the 6th Fleet area of operations in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe.
