160629-N-XT779-492 NEWPORT, R.I. (June 29, 2016) Cmdr. Joseph Santos, professor at U.S. Naval War College (NWC), assists high school students from the New England area as they complete a model bridge construction project as part of NWC’s Starship POSEIDON Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) camp in Newport, Rhode Island. This project involved building a bridge to withstand the weight of two one-liter bottles of water. The week-long STEM camp offers students the opportunity to experience science and technology applications within the Navy by teaming them up with active duty NWC officers and civilian STEM professionals to complete interactive projects and field trips.
