160616-N-NF288-006 WATERS SOUTH OF JAPAN (June 16, 2016) Airman Corrie Toombes, from Fresno, California, fires a .50-caliber machine gun on the forward port side of the Navy's only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) during a live fire exercise. Live fire exercises are performed to ensure our weapons defense systems and the Sailors who use them, operate effectively. The USS Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group is on patrol in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
