160611-N-EH218-256 SASEBO, Japan (June 11, 2016) – Sailors from the guided-missile cruiser USS Mobile Bay (CG 53) compete against Sailors from the Indian Navy in a volleyball match at the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Sasebo Base Service Activity during Malabar 2016. A trilateral maritime exercise, Malabar is designed to enhance dynamic cooperation between the Indian Navy, JMSDF and U.S. Navy forces in the Indo-Asia-Pacific. Mobile Bay is operating as part of the John C. Stennis Strike Group and Great Green Fleet on a regularly scheduled 7th Fleet deployment.
