Naval Base Kitsap (NBK) personnel participate in a four-day disaster response exercise. Emergency responders and personnel from various federal, state, and local agencies across the northwest will test their preparedness June 7-14. This drill named Cascadia Rising is coordinated by the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA). The scenario is a 9.0-magnitude earthquake along the Cascadia Subduction Zone. Through their participation, these agencies aim to learn lessons that will help them succeed in helping their communities should the unthinkable occur.
