Timothy Gallaudet, commander of the Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command and Oceanographer and Navigator of the Navy, speaks at the Celebration of Partnership of USNS Maury (T-AGS 66), the Navy’s newest oceanographic survey ship, at the VT Halter Marine shipyard. Maury, the last of the T-AGS 60 Class, will deploy to collect oceanographic data for use by the Navy. The Naval Oceanographic Office, an operational subordinate of the Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command, will operate the ship.
