160527-N-SF508-053 BROOKLYN, N.Y. (May 27, 2016) Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician 3rd Class Abraham Ruiz, assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 12, operates a PackBot transportable robotics system for students during a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) event at David A. Boody Intermediate School in Brooklyn as part of 2016 Fleet Week New York (FWNY). FWNY, now in its 28th year, is the city's time-honored celebration of the sea series. It is an unparalleled opportunity for the citizens of New York and the surrounding tri-state area to meet Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, as well as witness firsthand the latest capabilities of today's maritime service. The weeklong celebration has been held nearly every year since 1984. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Charles Oki/Released)
