160525-N-WE887-012 BROOKLYN, NY (May 26, 2016) Fire Controlman 1st Class Anthony White originally from New Orleans and stationed onboard USS Bainbridge (DDG 96), and Gas Turbine Systems Technician 2nd Class Ben Miller originally from Rushville, Illinois, also stationed onboard Bainbridge, work together laying new hardwood flooring into a home that was damaged by Hurricane Sandy during a Habitat for Humanity restoration project as a part of 2016 Fleet Week New York (FWNY). FWNY, now in its 28th year, is the city's time-honored celebration of the sea services. It is an unparalleled opportunity for the citizens of New York and the surrounding tri-state area to meet Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, as well as witness firsthand the latest capabilities of today's maritime services.
