1605017-N-SU278-134 PACIFIC OCEAN (May 17, 2016) – Sailors assigned to the guided-missile destroyer USS Spruance (DDG 111), and Coast Guardsmen from Coast Guard District 14 Law Enforcement Detachment prepare to board a merchant fishing vessel for inspection as part of Oceania Maritime Security Initiative (OMSI). Spruance, along with the guided-missile destroyers USS Momsen (DDG 92) and USS Decatur (DDG 73), and embarked “Devil Fish” and “Warbirds” detachments of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 49, are deployed as part of a U.S. 3rd Fleet Pacific Surface Action Group (PAC SAG) under Destroyer Squadron (CDS) 31.
