(May 4, 2016) Chef Carlos Velez, a native of the Bronx, N.Y., executive chef at the Hard Rock Caf� and Casino, adds honey to a sauce used to glaze roasted carrots in the wardroom aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Bainbridge (DDG 96) in preparation for the Celebrity Chef Luncheon during Fleet Week Port Everglades. Fleet Week Port Everglades provides an opportunity for the citizens of South Florida to witness first-hand the latest capabilities of today's maritime services and gain a better understanding of how the sea services support the maritime strategy and national defense of the United States.
