JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 28, 2016) – Lt. Stephanie Stoler, a registered nurse at Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s same day surgery, gives discharge instructions to a patient. Celebrating its 108th birthday, the Navy Nurse Corps was established by Congress on May 13, 1908, with 20 original members, known as the “Sacred Twenty.” May 6-12 is also National Nurses Week.
