JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 14, 2016) – Ensign Randall Ippolito, a registered nurse at Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s intensive care unit, programs an intravenous pump for a patient. On May 13, the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps celebrates its 108th birthday. Since 1908, the women and men of the Navy Nurse Corps have honorably served in hospitals and clinics, aboard hospital ships, and have flown with wounded from battle-torn areas. In addition, May 6-12 is National Nurses Week. (U.S. Navy photo by Jacob Sippel, Naval Hospital Jacksonville Public Affairs/Released).
