(April 11, 2016) Gas Turbine System Technician (Mechanical) 2nd Class Joshua Smith supervises STEM Scouts using a tracked robot during the Knoxville Navy Week STEM Night, which partnered the Navy STEM tour with the STEM Scouts "Vortex" rolling lab to highlight the high tech career possibilities available through naval service. The STEM Scouts are a coed program of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) that offers a scouting experience with less emphasis on the outdoors and more focus on technology based lessons that are experienced through weekly labs.
